oh god bless your angst filled heart for asking me to talk about sam pain ♥
of course the actual act will anger him, how could it possibly not? dean tricked sam into angelic possession, something dean admitted himself that sam would rather DIE than allow. but what will hurt him the most is that it will completely shatter everything dean had told him in that church and will just solidify all of his insecurities. For months now, Dean has been lying to him constantly, hiding things from him, covering things up. and after they finally made some serious steps to return their damaged relationship to what it once was, after dean promising him that it’s them against the world, that he trusts him, that he won’t pull the shit he pulled the past few years, that the past is in the past and that things were going to be okay now. For months, Sam believed that they were back to trusting one another with everything. earth may be a battleground for both the angels and the demons’ civil wars and they may have lost so much, but he trusted dean and believed dean trusted him entirely so things were gonna be okay. but it was a lie. it may have been a lie to save sam’s life, but it was made against his will and with dean knowing full well how wrong it would be and keeping it from him for months, which has also lead sam to believing that he’s just broken. Irreparably. That no matter what he does to try to help the world and do good, he’s just… damaged goods. monsters think there’s something wrong with him. he’s tired all the time. he has large gaps of memory loss. he’s confused and scared and miserable and dean knew why the whole time and kept it from him. he’s going to be devastated.
